Battlefield 6 is gearing up for its first major update as Season 1 officially kicks off on October 28, bringing fresh content, balance tweaks, and new gameplay features to all platforms.
According to developer Battlefield Studios, update 1.1.1.0 will roll out globally at 9:00 UTC, introducing essential bug fixes, visual upgrades, and animation improvements. Later that day, at 15:00 UTC, the full Season 1 content drop will go live, unlocking the new battle pass, Strikepoint game mode, and additional weapons.
The season’s first map, Blackwell Fields, will headline the update, alongside a new carbine, sidearm, and sniper rifle. The developers also confirmed a major battle royale experience, rumored to be titled Battlefield: RedSec, expected to launch alongside Season 1 as a free-to-play mode.
Player feedback from Battlefield Labs has already shaped the upcoming changes, with the team fine-tuning armor systems, lighting effects, vaulting mechanics, and overall weapon handling. The sun glare — one of the most common community complaints — is also being toned down for better visibility.
More free content will arrive on November 18, featuring a limited-time mode called Sabotage, a new shotgun, and an additional map set in California named Eastwood.
Following a strong debut, Battlefield 6 has already surpassed 7 million copies sold in its first week, marking a solid return for the franchise.
