Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, a remastered compilation of the franchise’s early titles, may launch in late September 2025, according to a leak spotted on the Xbox app. While some users have reported seeing a release date of September 29 or 30, others in India still see a June 6 listing — the original date announced during Sony’s State of Play.
The collection is being developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It includes the arcade, console, and handheld versions of the first four Mortal Kombat games, with rollback netcode for online multiplayer and a suite of quality-of-life enhancements.
Platforms include PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2. Though Digital Eclipse hasn’t confirmed the release date, fans speculate an official announcement could come during the Evo 2025 tournament, which begins August 1 in Las Vegas.
More than just a game collection, the Legacy Kollection also offers an interactive documentary, interviews with original developers Ed Boon, John Tobias, Dan Forden, and John Vogel, rare concept art, archival video footage, and character timelines that chronicle the evolution of the Mortal Kombat universe across realms like Earthrealm, Edenia, and Outworld.
