Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed the collaboration through a new trailer, revealing that the upcoming Halo 3: ODST Legendary Warbond will bring classic Halo weapons, armor, and cosmetics into Helldivers 2. Players will be able to unlock the Warbond for 1,500 Super Credits.
This crossover is a big moment for Helldivers 2. Since launch, fans have speculated about possible franchise tie-ins. While the game introduced its first crossover with Killzone in late 2024, many hoped to see iconic sci-fi series like Halo make an appearance. Until now, that seemed unlikely since Helldivers 2 wasn’t available on Xbox. With the Xbox Series X/S release, however, the dream has become a reality.
The trailer showcases some of Halo’s most recognizable weapons in action, set against environments reminiscent of New Mombasa from ODST. These include the Assault Rifle, Silenced SMG, Shotgun, and Silenced Pistol.
Players will also get access to two Halo-inspired armor sets: the standard ODST armor and the Recon armor. Both come with the “Feet First” passive, which reduces movement noise, prevents leg injuries, and boosts the detection range of points of interest by 30%.
In addition, the Warbond features ODST-themed cosmetics, including two capes, player cards, a new player title, and a Halo-inspired vehicle skin called “Mean Green.”
The crossover not only expands Helldivers 2’s content but also represents a shift in the industry. A Sony-published game arriving on Xbox signals the blurring of platform barriers, giving players more opportunities to enjoy titles across systems. For PlayStation users, the Warbond could also serve as their first taste of the Halo universe.
Helldivers 2 originally launched on February 8, 2024. Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Shooter Systems, it runs on the Bitsquid engine and carries an ESRB rating of M for Mature 17+ due to intense violence and gore.
