Fortnite could soon be playable directly within Discord, thanks to a new partnership between the social platform and NVIDIA. According to Gamerant, the integration will be powered by GeForce NOW, NVIDIA’s cloud-gaming service, allowing users to stream games without downloads or additional software.

A demo of the feature will be showcased at Gamescom, with a global rollout to follow. Once available, Discord users will get a limited-time free trial of GeForce NOW’s Performance tier, which typically costs around $10 per month. The tier supports gameplay at 1440p resolution and 60 FPS. After the trial, players can either subscribe or switch to the ad-supported version of GeForce NOW to continue playing.

Discord says the move isn’t about transforming into a gaming platform but rather making it easier for users to discover and try new titles. With no separate launcher or installation required, players can instantly jump into games, explore the first few hours of new releases, or join friends in sessions.

Fortnite, developed by Epic Games and powered by Unreal Engine 5, first launched in 2017 and remains one of the world’s most popular free-to-play games. Available across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, it supports cross-play and cross-save features. Alongside its signature Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, Fortnite offers creator-made experiences such as racing, parkour, and survival maps—each with individual age ratings.

With this integration, Fortnite is set to expand its already wide reach, making the battle royale even more accessible to millions of Discord users worldwide.
