Sony has officially confirmed the global rollout schedule for Ghost of Yotei, the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive launching on October 2. Serving as a spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima, the game introduces a brand-new standalone narrative centered on revenge and survival in Feudal Japan.

Release Time Schedule

The release will follow a rolling midnight launch, meaning players worldwide can access the game as soon as the clock strikes 12 AM in their local region. For U.S. players, this translates to an early unlock for the West Coast at 9 PM PT on October 1, while those on the East Coast will gain access at midnight ET.

Unlike Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai, who fought as a samurai, Ghost of Yotei shifts focus to Atsu, a skilled sellsword navigating a violent and unforgiving world. The story follows her pursuit of vengeance after a ruthless band of outlaws murders her family, setting the stage for an open-world adventure steeped in Japanese history and mythology.

Adding a unique twist, the game has even sparked a partnership with Japanese brewer Sapporo, which has released limited-edition beer cans featuring Ghost of Yotei artwork. The special packaging includes QR codes that unlock the brand’s iconic star logo within the game.

The launch also benefits from an industry-wide scheduling shift. With Grand Theft Auto VI delayed, Sucker Punch Productions avoids direct competition, giving Ghost of Yotei more visibility among fall’s big releases.

While the single-player campaign debuts this week, fans of cooperative play will have to wait longer. The Legends multiplayer mode has been confirmed but won’t arrive until 2026.

Ghost of Yotei stands as one of October’s headline releases, marking a major moment for PS5 owners.
