Pokémon GO announces Wild Area 2025: Schedule, key features, and highlights

Niantic has officially revealed Wild Area 2025, the next major event for Pokémon GO, which will spotlight the debut of the Impidimp evolutionary line—including Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl. The event also promises new Shiny releases, exclusive encounters, and a host of additional features to keep trainers engaged.

Event Schedule

November 7–9, 2025: In-person event in Nagasaki City, Japan

November 15–16, 2025: Global celebration for all players

During both phases, players will encounter the newly added Dark/Fairy Pokémon line, which serves as the main attraction of the event.

Key Features and Highlights

Pokémon Debuts: Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl join the game.

Shadow Raids:

Saturday: Shadow Cresselia (with Shiny potential)

Sunday: Shadow Darkrai (with Shiny potential)

Mighty Pokémon: Returning as rare, stronger wild spawns with unique move sets. Best caught using GO Safari Balls.

New Shiny Release: Shiny Hatenna debuts as a wild encounter.

Lurking Dark Hour: Spawns centered on Dark-types, including Alolan Meowth, Gastly, Skorupi, Stunky, and more.

Ticket Holder Bonuses

Access to Special Research with branching Dark or Fairy paths.
