Fans of Lara Croft may soon get to revisit one of her classic adventures on modern consoles. A new PlayStation Network update has hinted that Tomb Raider: Anniversary—the 2007 remake of the original Tomb Raider—could be getting a fresh release on PS4 and PS5.
The discovery comes from PushSquare, which reported that a full set of 26 Trophies for Tomb Raider: Anniversary has appeared on PSN, including a Platinum Trophy. The list includes rewards for completing story chapters and quirky challenges like “becoming a statue” and hoarding large numbers of Medipacks. Sony has not yet confirmed the re-release, and no release date has been announced.

Originally launched in 2007 to mark the series’ 10th anniversary, Tomb Raider: Anniversary reimagined Lara Croft’s first outing as she searched for the legendary Scion of Atlantis. While the game earned strong reviews for its faithful modernization, it became one of the lowest-selling entries in the mainline series.
If released, Anniversary would become the second title from the Tomb Raider: Legend trilogy to appear on PlayStation’s digital catalog, following Legend’s arrival earlier this year. The game is expected to be included in the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus, just like its predecessor.
The re-release continues the franchise’s recent trend of reviving its classic titles. 2024 saw the launch of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, followed by Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered earlier this year. Fans are still waiting for news on a completely new installment, with 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider remaining the last fresh entry.

Outside of gaming, the franchise is also expanding to television. Amazon is currently developing a Tomb Raider series, with Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner set to portray Lara Croft.
While the future of new Tomb Raider games remains uncertain, the rumored release of Anniversary will give fans another chance to step back into Lara Croft’s early adventures—this time with modern console support.
