Ambrosia Sky sci-fi FPS game coming to Windows PC on Steam but in episodes

Soft Rains’ upcoming sci-fi FPS Ambrosia Sky launches on November 10 as an episodic game, offering players a meditative mix of space cleaning, mystery, and emotional storytelling.

Indie studio Soft Rains is preparing to release its highly anticipated sci-fi first-person shooter Ambrosia Sky on November 10, 2025, but instead of a full release, players will initially experience only Act One, as the game transitions into an episodic format divided into three parts.

According to the developer’s press release, this decision aligns with the game’s unique storytelling structure and the realities of being a small, self-published team. Speaking to Polygon, the creators said that Act One represents a “fully realized first chapter,” complete in both gameplay and narrative, with the remaining acts expected to arrive sometime next year. A development roadmap for 2026 will soon clarify the release schedule.

The shift to episodic storytelling could also serve practical benefits—allowing Soft Rains to generate early community feedback and additional funding to support ongoing development. The new trailer unveiled this week highlights both the release plan and a glimpse into the game’s hauntingly beautiful world.

In Ambrosia Sky, players step into the shoes of Dalia, a Scarab-class field scientist stationed deep in space. Her mission begins as a search for the secret of human immortality, but much of her work involves cleansing alien fungi that has wiped out entire colonies. The gameplay mixes quiet, reflective cleaning sequences with emotional storytelling—drawing comparisons to PowerWash Simulator, but with a darker, more philosophical tone.

A free demo of Ambrosia Sky is already available on Steam for Windows PC, giving players a first look at what promises to be one of 2025’s most emotionally resonant sci-fi adventures.
