Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision has officially unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during Gamescom Opening Night Live, confirming a November 14 release date for PC and consoles. The publisher showcased gameplay in a 17-minute Black Ops 7 Direct, detailing its new campaign, multiplayer features, and the return of zombies mode.

The latest entry marks the first time the franchise is releasing consecutive Black Ops titles. Set in 2035, the story continues directly from Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6, bringing back Raul Menendez as the central antagonist. Former protagonist David “Section” Mason returns as the leader of a Joint Special Operations Command unit tasked with dismantling Menendez’s new weapon capable of weaponizing fear. Players will also encounter The Guild, a global tech corporation with its own role in the conflict.

For the campaign, Activision promises the “most innovative” experience in the series yet. It supports both solo and four-player co-op, introduces surreal sequences within the subconscious, and culminates in a replayable “Endgame” act. The Endgame takes place in the city of Avalon, designed as an open-ended sandbox where players can bring their customized gear and face waves of enemies. Missions will span varied global environments including Japan and the Mediterranean coast, with XP progression carrying across the campaign.

Multiplayer will launch with 16 maps, 13 brand new and three returning from Black Ops 2. Features include the Overclock system, which enhances weapons and equipment with use, as well as the return of Omnimovement for wall jumps and acrobatic maneuvers. A new large-scale 20v20 Skirmish mode will debut, offering multi-objective gameplay with wingsuits, grappling hooks, vehicles, and expansive battlefields.

Zombies mode also returns with round-based survival maps, vehicle gameplay, and the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline. Fans can also expect the chaotic Dead Ops Arcade 4 top-down shooter.

An open beta runs October 5–8, with early access for pre-orders starting October 2. Activision will also host Call of Duty: Next on September 30 to showcase multiplayer and zombies in full. Black Ops 7 will release in multiple editions across PC, PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and will be available on Game Pass at launch.
