MachineGames, the acclaimed Swedish studio behind Wolfenstein and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has teased its next project, igniting excitement among fans. The tease appeared in a celebratory post marking the studio’s 15th anniversary, hinting that multiple titles may currently be in development.

Founded in 2009 by former Starbreeze Studios developers and later acquired by ZeniMax Media (now owned by Microsoft), MachineGames has built a strong reputation for crafting story-driven action adventures. Its most recent release, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, launched for Xbox Series X/S and PC in December 2024, followed by a PlayStation 5 release in April 2025.

As part of its anniversary celebration on October 10, MachineGames shared a commemorative poster showcasing five of its past games—including Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle—alongside a mysterious sixth slot marked with a question mark. The image immediately sparked speculation across gaming communities about what the studio’s next project could be.

Adding to the intrigue, MachineGames Lead Prop Artist Pontus Wåhlin mentioned “upcoming projects” in a social media post, suggesting more than one game is in development. Fans have since debated whether the studio is working on Wolfenstein 3, a sequel to The Great Circle, or both.

Earlier this year, Xbox chief Phil Spencer hinted that another Indiana Jones game could be in the pipeline, describing the 2024 release as proof that the franchise “still has plenty of life.” Meanwhile, MachineGames’ studio director Jerk Gustafsson revealed in a September 2025 documentary that the team is “not done” with Wolfenstein, reinforcing hopes for a long-awaited trilogy finale.

Speculation intensified further following news of an upcoming live-action Wolfenstein series in development at Amazon MGM Studios. With the success of the Fallout TV adaptation reigniting its gaming counterpart’s popularity, many believe ZeniMax could align the new Wolfenstein game’s release with the show’s debut to maximize audience impact.
