Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase just dropped 18 new indie games for the Switch and upcoming Switch 2, with three surprise releases — Mina the Hollower (demo), UFO 50, and Is This Seat Taken? — available today. From pixel-art RPGs and cozy shop sims to chaotic party racers and underwater adventures, the showcase revealed what’s next for indie fans across both current and next-gen Nintendo platforms.

Just a week after airing a third-party-focused Nintendo Direct, Nintendo followed up with a fresh Indie World Showcase packed with 18 new indie game announcements. The broadcast delivered surprise releases, updates, and Switch 2 confirmations — giving fans a sneak peek at what’s next for indie gaming on Nintendo platforms.

Three games are already live on the Nintendo eShop, with many more launching throughout the year and into 2026.


Mina the Hollower gets October 31 release date and demo

Shovel Knight devs Yacht Club Games are back with Mina the Hollower, a gothic retro-style action-adventure. Players take on the role of Mina, a Hollower sent to save a cursed island. The game arrives on Switch and Switch 2 on October 31, and a playable demo is available now.

UFO 50 finally lands on Switch

Mossmouth, best known for Spelunky, has launched UFO 50 on the Switch eShop. The retro-inspired compilation packs 50 original 8-bit games, all built with NES-style limitations. The title was already praised on PC and holds a Metacritic score of 91. It’s out today.


“Is This Seat Taken?” brings quirky puzzles, out now

Launched today on Switch, Is This Seat Taken? is a puzzle game where players must strategically arrange oddball characters so everyone’s happy with their spot. It’s light, weird, and already generating buzz among puzzle fans.


Major announcements for 2025 and 2026 titles

Nintendo also unveiled several games scheduled for later releases on both Switch and its upcoming Switch 2:

  • Well Dweller: Coming in 2026, this side-scrolling adventure stars Glimmer, a tiny bird with a matchstick on a mission to slay an evil queen.
  • Neverway: A pixel-art RPG where you quit your job to work for an immortal deity. Coming in 2026, featuring visuals from the artist behind Celeste and music by composers from Fez and Hyper Light Drifter.
  • Herdling: Arriving August 21, this game has players guiding a herd of mysterious creatures through forests and valleys.
  • Content Warning: A co-op horror comedy where you go viral or die trying as a Spooktube streamer. Launches in 2026.
  • Ball x Pit: A roguelite blending Holedown, Loop Hero, and Vampire Survivors vibes. Comes to Switch on October 15 and Switch 2 this fall.
  • Ultimate Sheep Raccoon: A wild party game where you build then race wacky bike tracks. Set for winter 2025.
  • Glaciered: Set 65 million years in the future, you play an evolved birdlike creature exploring underwater ruins. Launching on Switch 2 this holiday.

  • Tiny Bookshop: Cozy shop management sim, available now on Switch.
  • Strange Antiquities: A sequel to Strange Horticulture, you run an occult antiques store. Out on September 17.
  • Opus: Prism Peak: A narrative photo adventure, coming this fall to both Switch and Switch 2.
  • Go-Go Town!: Become mayor of a crumbling tourist town, launching spring 2026.
  • Caves of Qud: 2D turn-based roguelike, hitting Switch this winter.
  • Undusted: Letters From the Past: Cozy cleaning game with a heartfelt story, coming in October.
  • Winter Burrow: A mouse-based survival adventure about restoring a childhood home. Out this holiday.
