Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a fresh Apex Legends patch that introduces balance changes to weapons and tweaks to the Evo Harvester system. The update, released on August 25, comes shortly after the launch of Season 26, as developers continue refining the game’s meta.
One of the season’s biggest additions was the introduction of Elite Weapons, reimagined versions of classic guns that temporarily replace their standard counterparts. Currently, only the RE-45 Elite has been added, featuring Energy ammo and a spin-up mechanic reminiscent of the Havoc rifle. Its high damage output and versatility quickly made it a favored choice, prompting Respawn to adjust its power level.
With the latest update, the RE-45 Elite has been nerfed across all tiers. The magazine capacity has been trimmed by three rounds, while recoil has been increased both vertically and horizontally. The projectile size has also been reduced to align with other pistols, making the weapon more difficult to control and less forgiving in combat. These changes aim to prevent the pistol from dominating firefights while still keeping it a viable option.

Beyond weapon adjustments, the patch also addresses Evo Harvesters, devices that provide armor upgrades during matches. Spawn rates have been increased from an average of seven to roughly ten per map, while the chances of two spawning in the same location have been reduced. This reverses some of the earlier Season 26 adjustments, where Respawn initially lowered their presence in an attempt to increase their value.
Community feedback has been largely positive, with many players welcoming the changes. However, some continue to call for updates to Legends like Ash, who remains a top pick. Respawn has indicated it will keep monitoring balance and roll out further adjustments throughout Season 26.
