Sony has announced the PS5 Slim NBA 2K26 Bundle, set to launch on September 5, coinciding with the release of NBA 2K26 across PS5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The bundle includes a PlayStation 5 Slim with disc drive, a DualSense controller, and a digital voucher for NBA 2K26. Pricing has not yet been revealed, but with Sony recently raising PS5 prices, it’s expected to cost more than earlier bundles.
The standard PS5 Slim now retails for $550 (up from $500), while the digital edition is $500 (previously $450). Earlier bundles, such as the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 package, were aggressively priced and sold out quickly, so many expect this upcoming release to carry a higher tag. Regional availability will vary, with PlayStation Direct and select retailers likely stocking the console.
For those not interested in NBA 2K26, Amazon still lists PS5 models at their older prices—$500 for the Slim, $450 for the Digital, and $700 for the Pro—though it’s unclear how long this will last.
As for the game itself, NBA 2K26 introduces a range of upgrades. Gameplay now leans on machine learning to better mimic real-world player movement, giving both offensive drives and defensive positioning more realism. Shooting mechanics are influenced by game tempo and defensive pressure, rewarding quick decisions and basketball IQ. Defense has been refined with new rebound timing feedback and more natural collision animations, making battles under the rim more dynamic.
Presentation has also improved, with livelier crowds, mascot antics, and enhanced arena atmosphere that capture the energy of a live game. MyTEAM sees major changes, including the debut of WNBA players such as Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, a new WNBA Domination tier, and fresh streetball-inspired courts for 2v2 and 3v3 play. A co-op All-Star Team Up mode now lets 10 players face off in 5v5 matches, rewarding both teamwork and individual contributions.
NBA 2K26 Editions
