Nintendo has officially confirmed that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming to the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2, complete with fresh multiplayer features. The upgraded version introduces a new hub area, Meetup in Bellabel Park, offering a variety of cooperative and competitive minigames for players.

Bellabel Park serves as a central plaza where players can either team up or face off in different challenges. Competitive activities include a coin-collecting race, a platform-fighting mode reminiscent of Smash Bros., and a hide-and-seek game where participants disguise themselves as objects.

Co-op players will find teamwork-focused challenges, such as Bob-omb Relay, where the group must pass a Bob-omb across the stage before it detonates. Other modes include block-placing puzzles for gap traversal and synchronized jumping games designed to lift platforms collectively.

Nintendo hinted that more exclusive features are planned for the Switch 2 edition, with additional details expected closer to launch. Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup in Bellabel Park is scheduled to release in Spring 2026.

Super Mario Galaxy animated film coming too

This announcement came during Nintendo’s latest Direct presentation, which also marked Mario’s 40th anniversary celebrations. Other highlights included the reveal of a Super Mario Galaxy animated film and the announcement that Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 will launch for both the Switch and Switch 2 on October 2, 2025. Fans can also look forward to Mario Tennis Fever, a brand-new entry in the popular sports spin-off series.
